Anna Catherina businessman shot dead

Thirty-six-year-old Terry Bacchus, of Anna Catherina on the West Coast of Demerara, was shot dead just outside his place of business, Double Discount, on Water Street, Saturday night, at around 21:30hours.
And his family contends that robbery was not the motive behind the killing.
Ms. Annette Bacchus, his sister, told the Chronicle that the only things missing were his gold band and chain.
“He had money in his pocket…he did not carry much money, but he had a couple thousands. They did not take that,” she said.
She added too that her brother was a peaceful man who did not have any conflict with anyone.
Reports are that Bacchus was leaving the store and was in his car when the killers came up next to his vehicle and shot him.
Bacchus was then rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) but did not survive.
Another sister, Ms. Diana Bacchus, one of the last persons to see the deceased alive, said he was supposed to have left right after she and some other relatives left the store.

“We got a call after we left Georgetown. We were in Vreed-en-Hoop, but we turned back…we went straight to the hospital, but when we reached he was already dead,” she said.
The deceased reportedly managed two other businesses, under the same name – Double Discount, at Stabroek Market and at Mon Repos, on the East Coast of Demerara.
Relatives indicated that he manned smaller operations at other locations on the West Coast of Demerara.
Bacchus leaves to mourn three children, five, eight and 10-years-old, and many other relatives and friends.
