Fatal accident victim, body pulled from river identified

THE man who was killed on the Diamond Access Road, East Bank Demerara, by a speeding motor car has been identified as Rudolph Latchman. Police said the fatal accident occurred on Tuesday, May 18, at 19:45 h, when the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, the driver of which lost control and it ended up in a trench.
Latchman, 51, of Parker Street, Providence, also on East Bank Demerara, was taken to Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Alicia Wahab, of Diamond, who was in the car, too, suffered injuries and is a patient at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) while the driver is in custody assisting Police with the investigations.
Meanwhile, Police in another report, said the body which was pulled from the Demerara River, in the vicinity of La Penitence koker, is that of Terrence King, 50, of Third Street, Alexander Village, also in Georgetown.
Police are investigating his death following the discovery about 10:45 h, on Tuesday, as well.
