A man who allegedly inflicted grievous bodily harm on his sister was yesterday remanded to prison.
Jeffery Ellis, 45, of 219 West Ruimveldt, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson and pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on May 15, he unlawfully inflicted grievous bodily harm on Judson Ellis.
The virtual complainant said this is not the first time her brother wounded her. She said he told her that he has her in his mind.
The woman said on the day in question, she was cleaning and she told the defendant not to go inside the house when he became annoyed and assaulted her with a hockey stick.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, objected to bail since the virtual complainant and defendant live in the same home.
Ellis was remanded to prison and the matter was transferred to another court for June 24.
