THE Kennard Memorial Turf Club will host its Annual Post-Arrival Day Race Meet on May 16 at its facility, Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
Seven races are carded for the day with the feature event being for horses classified `C’ and Lower and this will be over a distance of seven furlongs.
The winner will trot away with $380 000 and a trophy while the second- to fourth-placed finishers will receive $190 000, $95 000 and $48 000 respectively. Entrance fee is $45 000 and registration closes on May 8.
Trainers and owners are asked to note that no late entries will be accepted.
There will also be a seven-furlong race for Class I’ and Lower horses and the winner will be rewarded with a trophy and $140 000 while the second- to fourth-placed finishers will receive $70 000, $35 000 and $18 000 respectively. The entrance fee is $16 000 per horse.
Four six-furlong races are also on the card, one for Class `G’ and Lower horses with the winner receiving $160 000; there is also one for horses that have never won more than one race and the winner of this event will collect $130 000.
Class `F’ and Lower horses will compete for the $200 000 first prize over the same distance while the other six-furlong race is open to horses classified `J & K with the first prize being $110 000.
A five-furlong race for horses classified in Division Three is also on the card and the winner will receive $100 000.
