Burial in reserved area leads to Police intervention

THE burial of a Pentecostal Church worshipper in an area reserved for burying devoted Anglicans, in La Belle Alliance Cemetery, led to Police intervention Tuesday afternoon.
The funeral service was in progress at the site,
next to the Damon Cross, when Police from Anna Regina Station, also on Essequibo Coast, arrived and spoke to some relatives of the deceased.
The persons showed the policeman a receipt, issued by the Anna Regina Town Council, as proof of payment for a spot in the burial ground.
But no direction was given as to where the grave should be dug and the  interment was allowed after the issue was resolved.
