…unconfirmed reports say the incidents are related
The Police reported last evening that Brazilian miner Anton Dos Angos Silva, 47, was ‘jetting’ a mining pit in which he was working at Winiperu Backdam, Konawaruk, on Saturday, when a tree fell and crushed him. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mahdia Hospital.
And also at Konawaruk, the police are investigating the murder of a man called “Shine Rice”, which occurred early yesterday, at Mousie Landing. Investigations so far revealed that the deceased was involved in an argument with another man during which he was chopped about the body. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mahdia Hospital.
In another development, the proprietress of the place where the men were staying left to make a report at the Mahdia Police Station, and upon returning with the police, found that her building was destroyed by fire.
Four men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
No other information is available at this time, the police report said.
However, there are unconfirmed reports that the incidents are related.
