Care centre children have fun filled day kite flying

– intervention of Child Protection Services
Director of Child Protection Services, Ann Greene, and other members of the agency, along with 120 children from the Drop-in and Sophia Care Centres, Sunday celebrated Easter with a fun-day at the National Park.

Greene said that this is an annual event since the Child Protection Services was established three years ago, when they bring the children out to fly their kites and enjoy themselves.
The children of both centres were excited and looked forward to the day. Some of them even made their own kites and were quite pleased with the day’s activities.

They were very thankful for the patience and guidance of the staff of both centres, for their support and care, and for making the event successful.
Social Worker of the Sophia Care Centre, Claire Victorina, said that this event was made possible through the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security.

Easter commemorates the death of Jesus Christ and signifies his victory over death and his glorious promises of eternal life for all those who believe in him.
Government has over the years placed much emphasis on the protection and well-being of its most vulnerable section of society, and with the aid of the Child Care and Protection Agency, society has seen a drastic change in the way children are treated by all relevant agencies. (GINA)
