Autopsy confirms victim died from cutlass wounds

Saturday night murder…
THE autopsy report on the latest Berbice murder victim, Liloutie Seeram, said she died as a result of shock and haemorrhage, due to multiple cutlass wounds.
The post mortem examination conducted yesterday, by Dr. Vivikakand Brijmohan at New Amsterdam Hospital mortuary, also revealed that the mother of two, suffered three wounds to her head,
another to her right hand and one more to the left hand, from which three fingers were severed.
The woman’s body has been handed over to relatives for burial but her mother continues to be a patient at New Amsterdam Hospital and the suspect in the killing, her reputed husband, Rooplall Boodhoo remains at large, with Police investigations continuing.
Meanwhile, in the hospital on Sunday, Lata Inderdeo called Cheryl thanked God for sparing her life from the wounding attack.
Although there are bandages on various parts of her body, her condition has been described as stable, by medical authorities.
However, Inderdeo is unaware that her daughter, Seeram also known as Pinky, is dead.
The surviving woman believes her daughter is on a visit to Georgetown and, on Sunday afternoon, Inderdeo joined church members who surrounded her, in singing choruses, praising Jesus for his goodness.
Recalling the Saturday night ordeal, she said she was awakened by an argument between her daughter and her son-in-law, who had returned home intoxicated.
Inderdeo said she heard her daughter scream and, when she rushed to the couple’s bedroom, she saw the assailant, armed with a cutlass, chopping his reputed wife.
“I went between them, attempting to protect my daughter and he lashed me on my head, then chopped my right arm. I ran to the door, attempted to open it and he chopped me again. So I ran to a neighbour and was later brought to the hospital,” Inderdeo related.
