Phagwah Day murder suspect still at large

THE man suspected of having fatally stabbed Okema Todd, the mother of his children, on Phagwah Day was still at large yesterday.
But Police are continuing their investigations into the murder of the 20-year-old woman, which occurred about 01:00 h on March 1, in Ketley Street, Charlestown, Georgetown.
The victim was seen running towards the Ketley Primary School and shouting for help and a security guard on duty opened the gate to rescue her but she collapsed on the bridge, with several stab wounds about her body.

She was taken to Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police, who removed a knife from the crime scene where Todd lived, took a woman into custody Tuesday afternoon.
Relatives of the deceased told the Guyana Chronicle that the alleged killer had since been seen at the back of Stabroek Market and he threatened to kill Todd’s sister and father.
He is believed to be hiding among friends at Diamond, East Bank Demerara during the day and venturing into the city at nights.
Todd, a former female boxer, was attacked in her bed in the presence of her children ranging in age between four months and two years.
She jumped through a window of the cottage in an escape bid but was pursued and killed.
She is to be buried tomorrow.
