The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has advised that in an effort to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Mashramani Float Parade and Costume Competition several streets in the city will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The closure will happen on tomorrow, Monday February 22, and the next day, Tuesday, MASH Day, Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
According to a release, the street that will be closed to vehicular traffic tomorrow are Homestretch Avenue between Vlissengen Road and Mandela Avenue, effective 1900h. to midnight.
On Mash Day, the following Streets, Vlissengen Road from David Street to Church Street;
Woolford Avenue from Albert Street to Thomas Road; Thomas Road from J.B. Singh Road to Camp Road
Irving Street from Church Street to Thomas Road, will be closed to vehicular traffic from 0700h. to 1900h:
Meanwhile, motorists desirous of entering the National Park on MASH Day, Tuesday February 23, must do so from the Carifesta Avenue entrance, the release added.
The GPF regrets any inconvenience caused as a result of the temporary traffic arrangement.
