I pen this letter with the intention that the relevant authorities will intervene as it regards the high transportation fares by minibus and taxi operators who are operating along the Mahaicony main branch road.
The transportation cost faced commuters traversing the Mahaicony main branch road is excessively at a high rate. Adult commuters are asked to pay $140 while school children have to pay $80.
I fully agree that the high cost was necessary over the years, since the road was in a deplorable state. However, there should be a drastic reduction, since a completely new road was constructed by central government.
In my opinion and also by the many that face this dilemma that the new rates should be adults $140 while school children should pay $40.
I am calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and have this matter resolve urgently.
