REGIONAL Chairman of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh has exhorted residents of Cullen Sand Top, where high tidal waves flooded their homes last weekend, to move to higher ground. He advised them to apply for house lots and in either Onderneeming or Lima Sands housing schemes.
Baksh admitted that the Sand Top area is very vulnerable to flooding during Atlantic Ocean high tides.
He also said the Regional Administration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, is mobilising machines and materials to seal a 30 feet breach in the Sand Reef embankment, caused by high tides that flooded several homes, last weekend, too.
