Ambassador of Russia to Guyana, Pavel Sergiyev (in short-sleeved white shirt), chats with members of the Harley Davidson Club of Russia during a recent visit here after the group completed their tour of Guyana. The group of eight riders journeyed to Boa Vista in neighbouring Brazil, then on to Venezuela and back to Guyana.
During the course of their adventure, the group visited the famous Angel Falls or Kerepakupai Merú as it is known in Venezuela, reputedly the world’s highest waterfall with a height of 979m (3,212 ft) and a plunge of 807m (2,647 ft), and our own Mount Roraima, the highest mountain in the Pakaraima chain in South America.
The purpose of the ride, which was done by way of all-terrain motorcycles, was in appreciation that we live in a beautiful world with diverse cultures and in honour of Guyana’s achieving another milestone since becoming a republic.
In the eight-member team are Dmitry Khitrov, Sergey Sadovnikov, Roman Lockshin, Maxim Stefanov, Amiran Lagvilava, Gergei Sherbekov, and Alex Adikoev.
