It is most commendable to see that Guyanese are empathising with the terrible situation in Haiti, and are making monetary contributions towards that disaster.

Certainly, more persons would throw in their lot if only there are more comfortable ways to do so.

The cell phone companies here should be complimented for the systems that they have set up to make collections towards the assistance.

However, I suggest that some text numbers be added for persons who wish to give a larger one shot amount, say $1,000, $2,000 and $5,000 contributions.

The $100 and $80 accounts make it too tedious for those who wish to contribute more. Accessing the accounts more than once blocks the encouragement.
