The Kaieteur News will soon lose its credibility if it continues to print letters laced with lies from the pen of Leon Suseran who is always seeking to misinform the public. It is quite evident that this individual has a political agenda. But allow me, if you can, to correct his pompous letter captioned “Cabinet Outreach on the Corentyne Coast” that appeared in Kaieteur news of Jan 15, 2010.
Three days prior to the Cabinet Outreach, the itinerary for the activity was televised non-stop on the N.C.N, showing eleven teams comprising two to three cabinet member each allotted to three locations each, totalling thirty three locations spread across the entire Region Six, not Corentyne coast as Suseran indicated.
For example, Hon Ministers R. Benn and Mansoor Nadir held three meetings in the East Bank Berbice at Mara, Lightown, and Edinburgh. In West Canje and New Amsterdam, cabinet members Hon Gail Teixeira and Hon Odinga Lumumba visited Vryheid, Angoy’s Avenue and Tuckber Park.
Suseran is definitely stuck in a rock for ideas as there was neither promises nor rhetoric by the President that Berbice ‘taking off’ as charged. On the contrary there was the call for accountability and better services by public servants, of whom Suseran is one. Instead of staying in his cocoon spinning webs of deceit and pedalling misinformation in the media, Suseran should attend the cabinet outreach and be enlightened on the facts.
Then he would appreciate the strategic economic value of the presidential trips abroad. When media houses publish malicious and misleading letters, freedom of speech is mocked.
