The Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 15:50h Wednesday at the Chico Ram Service Station, Strathspey, East Coast Demerara, when two female pump attendants were attacked and robbed by a man armed with a handgun.

The two attendants were working at the fuel pump when they were confronted by the man who held them at gunpoint and took away a pouch reportedly containing $957, 678 in cash, Police reported.

As the man was leaving, the owner of the fuel station gave chase but was forced to give up after a shot was discharged in his direction. The armed man then joined a waiting motor vehicle and escaped.
