KEVON Anthony Castello was yesterday released on $100,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry charged with larceny from the person.
Castello, of 646 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which said, on July 31, he stole from the person of Jusa Bascombe one cellular phone valued $85,000.
Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, said Bascombe was walking along Avenue of the Republic when her phone rang.
When she took it out to answer it, Griffith said Castello snatched it and ran.
She said he was apprehended by a police patrol that was in the vicinity at the time.
According to Griffith, Castello was previously charged with a similar offence.
