ALBERT Khan, 42, of Lot 24 Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown, was yesterday sentenced to three years imprisonment for seven burglaries.
He pleaded guilty to all the counts before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, admitting that:
* between November 16 and 17, 2008, he broke and entered the store of John Munian and stole three cell phones valued $20,000 and $8,000 cash;
* between December 31, 2008 and January 1, 2009, he also broke and entered the store of John Munian and stole six watches priced at $48,000 and $57,400 cash;
* between November 11 and 12, 2008, he broke into the same place again and stole $35,000 cash;
* between December 4 and 5, 2008, he committed another burglary at the same place from where he stole three bottles perfume worth $6,500 and $12,000 cash;
* between November 3 and 4, 2008, he went back and stole $20,000 cash;
* between October 27 and 28, 2008, he ventured there again and carted off $8,000 cash and
* between December 23 and 24, he again stole $180,000 cash from the very place.
Police Corporal Sherwin Matthews, prosecuting, said, after Munian discovered his keys to the premises were missing, he placed a camera inside and the burglar was photographed removing the booty.
The Prosecutor said Khan confessed to Police that he stole the keys and burglarised the place several times.
The magistrate inflicted a three years sentence for each offence but ordered that they run concurrently. So, the convict will only serve three years in jail.
