Autopsy reveals fuel dealer died of asphyxiation

Body in car trunk…
A POST mortem examination, performed on Wednesday, revealed that Ramzan Alli, the fuel dealer found dead in a motor car trunk Sunday morning, died as a result of asphyxiation due to suffocation, compounded by severe blunt trauma to the head.

His corpse was discovered in the rented vehicle on Coldingen Railway Embankment, after he had left his Lot 29 Kissoon Housing Scheme, Good Hope home, on Saturday night.

Since then, a man wanted by the Police, in connection with his murder and a number of robberies, was shot and injured before being arrested on Enterprise Railway Embankment, also on East Coast Demerara.

The suspect, whose name Police gave as Anthony Bellamy, 35, is under guard at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where he is nursing a gunshot wound.

Meanwhile, a member of Alli’s household and an employee are in custody assisting with the investigations.
