The National Zoological Park will be holding zoo camps for children between the ages of six and 12 from July 13 next and applications are invited.
The camps are of one week duration, from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
The children will benefit from educational tours of the zoo, presentations on wildlife topics, field trips, nature stories, films arts and crafts, fishing and bird-watching, games and lots more, officials say.
The dates for various age groups are: those aged six to 9 — July 13 to 17 and July 27 to 31, and those aged 10 -12 — July 20 to 24 and August 3 to 7.
The fee per child is $3,500 and they need to walk with their lunches.
A spokesman for the zoo said parents are invited to take part in the opening and closing sessions of each camp.
They can contact Mr. Donald Gunraj at the Nature School of the Zoological Park for further information.
Ms Youlanda Vasconcellos, General Manager of the National Parks Commission, said that this year’s camp for children is the eight annual one.
