KOBE Bryant, Mike Tyson, The Williams Sisters, Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods, Michael Joseph Jackson, Muhammed Ali, and many more ‘black’ athletes and television hosts, etc, have reached the ‘pinnacle’ in their ‘field’ but in the final analysis are castigated, accused, degraded and labelled by ‘the other side’ as not worthy to have attained their ‘status’ just because they are black.
It is because ‘the other side’ envies them for their various qualities and because ‘the other side’ does not possess the genes that we have and becomes dissatisfied with their own ‘bodies.’ They ask themselves ‘why can’t I be like them’ and the envy comes in.
I say to you out there we do not care how you feel about our black ‘icon’ we would not grant you the privilege of trying to defend our ‘Heroes’ they are ours and we find no fault in them, we the black man and woman do not have a problem – you of the other side are the ones with the problem.
Recently, we have had two new black icons arriving, Barack Obama who became the first black president of the U.S. and Usain Bolt who won the 100 metres at the Olympics in ‘Beijing China. Bolt crossed the tape looking back at the rest of the field which ‘the other side’ claimed was an act of insult to the other athletes behind him, we the black man say that he was indicating to them ‘hey fellas come on you can do better than that.’
His gesture of looking back was not insulting but indicating to them to catch up with him. Oh boy they should not be doing this. I am defending one of our black icons. If you have a bad fever it is ‘black fever,’ if something goes wrong on the Friday, it is ‘black Friday,’ if you fall through some illness or if the current goes out, it means that a person had a ‘black out’.
I can go on and on but what I’m proud of is that a black man and his family live in the White House. Yes, fellow black people, we have reached the pinnacle in all walks of life.
Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, and their two children are positively black. Do you of ‘the other side’ have a problem with that? We haven’t started yet. We will achieve more and you will continue to envy us because you are not black like us. This is not a racist letter, it is in fact – we are black and proud of our ‘icons.’
‘The other side’ continuously used in this letter does not refer to any particular ‘race.’ The other side could be of any race and is more referred to as a differentiation of a person’s misconceptions of another person or people’s attitude.
