IT is so beautiful to see the city being cleared. Just the other day I was walking down the avenue on East Street, something that I haven’t done in a while. There is the walkway, but it is in no state for anyone to walk on.
The grasses are always overgrown and you really can’t tell the drain from the avenue. Well, I felt so good walking that same corner, this time using the avenue. One could literally stand at the end of one street and see the other end. The workers are doing a good job.
This is something I am sure citizens were waiting for a long time and the President’s intervention at City Hall was timely. I think that the City Hall should have special money allocated for this purpose yearly.
I would like to remind citizens, that while the Mayor and City Council is doing its part, we the citizens have an important role to play in ensuring that the city is kept clean, so that the prestige can be returned to Georgetown. Let us do our part and help to keep the city clean.
