DEPUTY Supreme Court Registrar, Mr. Raschid Mohamed, has been given additional duties, following the interdiction from duty of the Registrar, Ms. Sita Ramlal.

Ramlal went off the job Wednesday, May 6, but Mohamed explained that an acting Registrar cannot be appointed as the incumbent has not been dismissed.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) interdicted Ramlal pending the determination of her Court cases which are pending.

She and retired Major General Norman McLean have been slapped with several criminal charges following a report, by the United States (U.S.) Embassy, surrounding adoption papers for a child.
Both accused are on bail until June 5.
