UCIL Haley, 52, of Lot 258 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was also remanded to prison yesterday on an unlawful wounding charge.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle and pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Patricia Durant on May 3.
The defendant claimed the virtual complainant took his wife into the interior to do business and, when he went to collect and forgive her, he found her with another man.
Haley said Durant was injured during a fight.
After hearing the defendant, the magistrate entered a not guilty plea but Haley insisted there be no change.
Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, confirmed that the defendant accused the virtual complainant of finding a man for his wife and he threatened to kill Durant, his wife and himself.
Eventually, the magistrate refused bail to Haley, ordered a probation report into the matter and adjourned the case to May 18.
