TWO drug defendants shared different fates before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday. One of them, Ravin Smith, 29, of Lot 151 Non Pariel Street, pleaded not guilty to being in possession of six and a half grammes cocaine, for the purpose of trafficking on April 1 and was remanded to prison until April 7. The other, Colin Hooper, 32, of Lot 33 James Street, also in Albouystown, Georgetown, denied having one and a half grammes cannabis (marijuana) the same day but he was granted $20,000 bail and his case put off to May 4. His lawyer, Mr. Ronald Burch-Smith said Hooper lends his car to two policemen and others from time to time and the narcotic was placed in the vehicle by some other occupant. Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, did not object to grant of pre-trial freedom for Hooper.
