THE six charges, for traffic offences, against former Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys were yesterday dismissed by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.
The Court ruled that the defendant had no case to answer because there were no witnesses for the Prosecution.
Gilhuys was charged in October 2008 after being involved in an accident, with careless driving, being an unlicensed driver, failing to produce a driverxs licence, having an uninsured, uncertified and unlicensed motor vehicle.
It was alleged that he, on October 2, 2008, in Georgetown, drove PLL 4282 without due care for other road users and resulted in a collision on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown.
Gilhuys, who had pleaded not guilty to all the accusations, was recently sent on early retirement by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) in the public interest, severing him from the judiciary nearly eight months after he was involved in an incident in which a policeman was shot.
