Westford twins top Region 2 at ‘Common Entrance’

TWINS Adrian and Alexander Westford have made Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) proud at the National Grade Six examinations.

altReports are that Adrian has topped the region, while Alexander is the number seven top student of the region.
In an interview with this publication, the brothers expressed their elation at their achievement. Nevertheless, Adrian said he did not expect to top Region Two.
According to the student, he was attentive to his teachers while in class, but did not do any extra studies at home, apart from his home work. Asked why he did not study in the evenings, a smiling Adrian said he was mostly involved in phone games, and visited friends and played cricket in the afternoons. Adrian said he had found the examination easy.
The teen, who has set his sights on acquiring a doctorate in medicine, singled out his father and the teachers and Head Master of Sparta Primary School, Mr. Deodat Narine, for special thanks for his success; but

according to his father, Adrian is naturally bright.
His brother, Alexander, said he became excited and happy upon hearing the results on Friday. The student said he studied from 7pm until 10pm, and worked hard to pass the examinations. His advice to other students who would be sitting the examinations is to study hard and work towards doing well.
Alexander said he wants to become a civil engineer, and has set his sights on attending a school in the city, if given the opportunity. He also is thankful to his father and teachers of Sparta Primary for his success.
The twin brothers have been brought up by their father ever since their mother died many years ago; and Mr. Westford said he is proud of his two sons’ performance at the Grade Six examinations. He said he had expected them to do much better, because their performances in the lower classes had been excellent over the years. He said the Sparta Primary School has improved tremendously over the past six years, and he credits headmaster Mr. Deodat Narine and teachers, especially those of Grades Six and Five.
