He mentioned the inaugural street football tournament which was played under lights and created a huge hype and set the tone for the other aspects of the programme.

Exciting performances
Exciting performances by ace racer Dave Scott, under the Rubis Guyana and Aruwai Plaza & White Water Resort sponsorship, demonstrated his supremacy in the aqua-jet 200 horse power and unlimited engines categories.
Jet skiing and the lower class racing events were also contested on a smaller scale, due to the inclement weather.
Miss Bartica Pageant was another activity that was seen as a classic, by Bradford, in terms of organisational standard, deliverance and the quality of platforms set and executed by all the contestants.
He said one would now be satisfied with the judges’ decision after a quality show, one Bartica would never forget.
The support of the patrons, other corporate and State agencies and the government was overwhelming, and Bartica would commence planning for its next such programme of activities.
Bradford said the Organising Committee pronounced this year’s an accident and incident-free weekend and look forward to assistance in cleaning the roadways and areas where most of the happenings took place.
