HEAD of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon was yesterday released from the hospital in a stable condition.
This was confirmed by Minister of Health, Dr. Bheri Ramsarran who advised that Luncheon is in a stable condition and under the watchful eyes of his doctors. He noted that Luncheon’s doctors are very happy that he is in such a condition that he is able to return home. While the minister pointed out that Luncheon, who also serves as Cabinet Secretary, Secretary to the Defence Board and Chairman of the Board of the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), would not be able to return to work as yet in his current condition, he disclosed that he is very lucid, conscious and doing well.
However, Dr Ramsarran is calling on the public and members of the media especially, to respect the privacy of the Cabinet Secretary at this time.
Luncheon was last Friday morning rushed to the hospital where he was admitted a patient.
Presidential Adviser on Governance, Gail Teixeira, who is currently acting Cabinet Secretary, told the media at last week’s post-Cabinet media briefing that Luncheon was hopitalised but conscious and in a stable condition.
“We hope that he will be able to rest and have all of the medical attention required to get to the bottom of what were some of the medical problems he has been encountering over the last few weeks. We wish him all the best and speedy recovery,” she had stated.
Luncheon was also admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) earlier this month, subsequent to suffering a fall at his Stanley Place, Kitty, home. (Nadine Sanchara)
