Ramotar assures Essequibo youths of jobs through hydropower

PRESIDENTIAL Candidate of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), Mr. Donald Ramotar told scores of young people at Anna Regina that hydropower will have a major impact on job creation.
Addressing the youths gathered for an interaction on the lawns of State House, also on the Essequibo Coast, last Friday evening, he acknowledged that one of the challenges facing the government is the creation of jobs for them and said hydropower will address that problem.
Ramotar said all the countries surrounding Guyana have cheap energy produced by hydropower and that is one of the factors that goes against this country in the production and industrial arenas.
He said, with cheap electricity, thousands of jobs will be created and the country will be developed faster.
The Presidential Candidate assured that the PPP/C has young people at heart as the party believes they are the future of tomorrow.
He noted that young people are doing excellently at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) tests and Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) is climbing to the top of the education ladder nationally.
