INTERNATIONAL 6 took top honours in the annual Jeet Brothers (USA) dominoes tourney which was played at the exquisite Strikers Sports Club last Monday evening and brought together longtime rivals Wild Bunch, T.N.T and International 6. The Jeet brothers who are ardent players migrated some years ago but remained committed to supporting the sport locally by making it an annual event in which they would donate trophies, caps, watches and other souvenirs to exceptional players in each team that would participle.
Wild Bunch shot out of the blocks with 13 games with International 6 and T.N.T closely behind deadlocked on 12 games.
Their lead was short-lived as Andrew Yhap was taken down lovers’ lane by Leroy Edwards of T.N.T. and they never recovered.
The battle for supremacy was then on as T.N.T. and International 6 were separated by no more than 3 games when T.N.T. made a powerful fifth sitting as the scores read T.N.T. 66 games, International 6 62 games and Wild Bunch trailing with 55 games.
It took the experience of Martin Permaul, Edmund Sammy and Intikhab Ali to dig deep and snatch victory as Sean Morgan of T.N.T. gave his head on a platter to Jermain Jackson of Wild Bunch and was loved. The game ended with the score reading: International 6 75 games, T.N.T on their heels with 73 games and Wild Bunch bringing up the rear with 70 games.
The MVP and recipient of a Rolex Submariner Date Watch and a NYC cap was Dane Bynoe who chalked up the maximum 18 games for T.N.T., Jermain Jackson was adjudged best player for Wild Bunch with 14 games and for his efforts he received The OMEGA Hour Vision Blue watch and a NYC Cap.
Edmund Sammy of International, who incidentally rapped with card and came back to give a match-winning performance with 16 games, received an Omega De Ville Hour Vision watch and a NYC cap.
