JOY and excitement filled the air in Akawini as the Region’s children received toys in a heartwarming distribution exercise, compliments of His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
The outreach was organised and led by Madanlall Ricky Ramraj, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, and supported by the energetic youths of the Progressive Youth Organization (PYO), who helped ensure that every child felt special during the festive season.
The event was more than just a distribution of gifts; it was a celebration of community, generosity, and the spirit of giving. Children’s faces lit up with smiles as they received toys, and parents expressed gratitude for the Government’s ongoing efforts to support young ones and bring happiness to households across the Region.
Minister Ramraj who started the distribution on Saturday highlighted the importance of initiatives like this in fostering a sense of togetherness and spreading joy during the holidays. The involvement of the PYO youths also demonstrated the value of youth participation in community service, reinforcing the message that caring for others is a responsibility shared by all generations.
This outreach reaffirmed the Government’s steadfast commitment to uplifting communities, nurturing children, and ensuring that the festive season is a time of happiness, hope, and shared joy.
Parents of Akawini expressed gratitude to the Government for remembering their community.
The Akawini toy distribution serves as a shining example of how thoughtful initiatives can make a lasting impact on families and bring communities closer together.
