– Region Seven still outstanding
With just one electoral district left to be declared for the 2025 General and Regional Elections, the Incumbent People’s Progressive Party is in the lead by over 134,000 votes.
This is according to data gathered from the declaration forms shared via the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) in the lead-up to the overall declarations.
Thus far, declarations have been made for Regions One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Eight, Nine and Ten.
Without the declaration being made for Region Seven, the PPP/C captured some 238,000 votes in the General Elections, followed by newcomer We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) with over 103,000 votes.
The A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) has captured over 77,000 votes thus far.
According to the declarations that have been made thus far, the PPP/C has captured wins in Regions One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Eight and Nine.
All statements of poll for all ten electoral districts have been uploaded to GECOM’s website; as such, official declarations have been made in nine regions, with Region Seven’s declaration still outstanding.
GECOM reminded that it remains the sole authority to declare official results, even as tabulation continues in other regions.
