We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) candidate Bryan Mackintosh, popularly known as ‘Bryan Maxx,’ and social media personality Mikhail Rodrigues, also known as ‘Guyanese Critic,’ on Monday made their first court appearance following a physical altercation that unfolded over the weekend in Georgetown.

Both men appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where Mackintosh faced three charges for using abusive language towards OC Rogers and provoking both Rodrigues and Rogers with intent to insult or annoy during an incident on August 23 at Laluni Street.

Mackintosh pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 on each charge.

Meanwhile, Rodrigues, 45, was charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Mackintosh. He too denied the allegation and was placed on $100,000 bail.

The matters were adjourned to September 15.

The confrontation stemmed from a money collection dispute allegedly involving WIN presidential candidate, Azruddin Mohamed.

Police said the incident occurred after Mackintosh called into Rodrigues’ live morning broadcast, claiming he was collecting money on Mohamed’s behalf.

Rodrigues invited him to the studio, where an expletive-laden exchange escalated into a physical fight.

The clash was broadcast live and widely circulated on social media.

Mackintosh, who has become a visible spokesperson at WIN rallies and frequently produces live videos for the movement, was recently seen in another viral recording wielding a cutlass and allegedly threatening to kill Education Minister Priya Manickchand and PPP/C Georgetown Councillor Alfonso De Armas.

That incident drew sharp criticism from Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, who faulted the Carter Center’s pre-election report for not mentioning it.

Police confirmed that both Mackintosh and Rodrigues have been cooperating with investigators.

Earlier, they were each granted station bail $25,000 for Mackintosh and $50,000 for Rodrigues before their court appearance.
