— Seeram rallies behind President Ali, PPP/C
IN a show of confidence in the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), Region Four Chairman, Daniel Seeram, once a key figure in the opposition, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Thursday as he urged citizens to back the PPP/C in the September 1, 2025, General and Regional Elections.
Seeram, who previously served under the opposition A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), back in May, formally endorsed President Ali and the PPP/C administration for a second term, citing what he described as “tangible development” across the country under their leadership.
“Comrades, I once wore green and stood before you and I asked you for your vote genuinely…Now I stand before you wearing bright red to tell you that I’m on the winning team,” Seeram said while addressing a community meeting at Kuru Kururu along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Seeram’s defection marks a seismic political shift in Region Four, Guyana’s most populous and politically strategic region.
Praising the leadership of President Irfaan Ali and the work of the PPP/C government, Seeram said Guyana was no longer seen as a “third world country” but as a rising regional leader.
He highlighted ongoing developments in key sectors such as healthcare, education and aviation, noting that the Cheddi Jagan International Airport CJIA) is now regarded as a top-tier facility in the Caribbean, offering thousands of opportunities for residents of Kuru Kururu and other communities along the Soesdyke-Linden highway.
“There is tangible development in all sectors in Guyana, and that is a testament to Dr. Mohammed Irfaan Ali and the PPP/C government,” Seeram declared.
Seeram’s voice now joins a growing list of former opposition operatives who have recognised the visionary, people-first leadership of President Ali and the steadfast commitment of the PPP/C to deliver for all Guyanese.
“We are working assiduously, 24/7, to ensure that you have this continued development. We are working double overtime, as we do not sleep.”
As such, he emphasised the government’s people-centred approach and called on voters to give the PPP/C another term in office to “unify Guyana” and continue the momentum of progress.
“Only one party can take this country forward, and that is the People’s Progressive Party/Civic,” Seeram asserted.
President Ali, who was warmly received by residents, has been stepping up community engagements across the country in the run-up to the polls, showcasing the administration’s track record and vision for the next term.
