…Unity Gym’s Vyphius edges Chandler

MARLEY Vyphius of Unity Gym and VS Fitness showed off his chiseled muscles at the Royal International Hotel to capture the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s National Novice Title.

Vyphius displayed a ripped frame to the adulation of the audience and approval of the judges who give him the nod over serial winner on the night Roley Chandler and other competitors in the final pose off on stage for the overall crown.

Vyphius started his night, beating off the challenge of Elliot Gonslaves and Timothy Roberts in the Heavyweight category.

Vyphius was not done, returning to clinch the Men’s Masters category unopposed, his second win of the evening.

His top challenger on the night was Kares Cross Fit Roley Chandler who displayed one of the best physiques for the evening to capture several categories.

He opened with the win in the Junior Body Building class as he overcame Elliot Gonsalves, Adrian DaSilva and Danellson Ambrose.

He returned in the middleweight category to top rival Daryll Trellis of Space Gym to take that victory as well.

Chandler also clinched the Men’s Physique win ahead of six other athletes; second place went to Dillion David of Fitrex with Ronaldo Sukra of Unity Gym third.

Also in the final pose off was Denellson Ambrose who won the Lightweight class ahead of Adrian DaSilva of L&L Fitness Gym.

The Miss Bikini contest was won by Selena Ajudia of Space Gym 2.0 as against Emelrna Westmoreland of Unity Gym finished second.

Desmond Nicholson from Team Cyborg won the Welterweight Division.

The organiser also held a kid’s fitness competition which saw Traji Bascom, Naomi Risee and Trinity Cole taking home trophies for their performance.
