THE Ministry of Public Works has announced that remedial works are currently in progress on several sections of the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, where recent heavy rainfall has caused unexpected potholes to develop along portions of the under-construction roadway.
According to the Ministry, the rainfall severely impacted the structural integrity of parts of the highway that were already undergoing rehabilitation, resulting in difficult driving conditions for commuters over the weekend and into Monday morning.
In response, emergency repair teams have been deployed to carry out the necessary remedial work to restore safe and smooth passage for all road users. The Ministry has assured the public that restoring travel safety is a top priority and that every effort is being made to complete the works as quickly and efficiently as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience caused and are working diligently to address the situation,” a spokesperson said. “Our teams are on the ground, and we thank the public for their continued patience and cooperation.”
Commuters are advised to exercise caution while traversing the affected areas and to remain alert for ongoing works and any temporary traffic changes.
The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the long-term durability and safety of the Soesdyke-Linden Highway as part of broader national infrastructure improvement efforts.
