THE Tagore Memorial Secondary School was the recipient of two complete cricket kits, compliments of Sohan Bheer, in memory of the late Ernest and Kala Bheer.

At a simple ceremony, held recently at the No.63 based school, Rajiv Misir presented the gear on behalf of the family to Basdeo Seenauth, Physical Education Department teacher. The request for the donation was done by chairman of the school’s board, Charlie Amar.

Seenauth was high in praise for the Bheer’s family and promised that good care will be taken of the gear which will be fully utilized. He added that over the years, the school has excelled in education and sports, cricket in particular.
Misir indicated that the USA-based family is happy and feel privileged to give back to the school and more so, in memory of their parents. Derek Kallicharran and project “Cricket gear for young and promising cricketers in Guyana” played their part in organizing the event. Kallicharran is a former West Indies ‘B’ all-rounder, right arm leg-spinner and right-handed batsman.
