Crucial MoUs signed with international partners at CARICOM summit
President Dr. Irfaan Ali; European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen; Barbados Prime Minister and current CARICOM Chair Mia Mottley; and Grenada's Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell oversaw the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.
The first MoU was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hugh Todd on behalf of Guyana, and establishes technical assistance from the Government of Lithuania to Guyana and Barbados. This assistance aims to strengthen pharmaceutical regulatory services, and facilitate vaccine manufacturing in the region.
The second MoU focuses on exploring digital telecommunications services for the Caribbean, in collaboration with the Spanish company, HISPASAT, and the CARICOM Telecommunications Union.
