THE Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony, on Saturday evening attended the Annual Dinner Fundraiser hosted by the Guyana Cancer Society, representing President Dr Irfaan Ali.

This event underscored the nation’s ongoing commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment, as well as providing critical support to those affected by the disease.

During his remarks, the minister stated that while the government has been working to expand public health, it cannot do so alone.

“There’s space for organisations to also work to ensure that we can extend health and other benefits to various parts of our country,” he emphasised.

He further praised the efforts of the Guyana Cancer Society, acknowledging their pivotal role in raising awareness and encouraging people to get tested, particularly during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The minister acknowledged the importance of access to screening and treatment in the fight against cancer in Guyana. (MoH)
