IN a significant step towards enhancing the mental well-being of its personnel, 33 ranks from the Guyana Fire Service recently completed a comprehensive mental health seminar led by Dr. Anand Arulsamy, Senior Psychologist at the Ministry of Health’s Mental Health Unit.
The seminar, held over the past two days, covered a range of crucial topics, including the workings of the mind, time management, neural pathways, and anger management.
The sessions were designed to provide practical skills and insights into managing mental health effectively. Participants engaged in various exercises to test and improve their skills in anger management and time management.
Following these activities, attendees took part in discussions to analyse their findings and develop strategies for personal and professional improvement.
The Guyana Fire Service expressed its appreciation to the Ministry of Health and Dr. Arulsamy for their valuable contributions. The seminar is part of the Fire Service’s ongoing efforts to support the mental health and overall well-being of its personnel, so as to equip them with essential tools for managing stress, and enhancing their professional performance.
