several critical projects progressing well

FOLLOWING his most recent project meeting with government engineers, Minister of Public Works Bishop Juan Edghill paid an impromptu visit to over eight project sites in Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) to ensure that contractors are working towards meeting their deadlines.

Some of the sites visited were the Grove/Diamond project, the new Demerara Harbour Bridge site, the Ogle/Eccles roads, Aubrey Barker Road, ‘Red Road’, Cemetery Road, Lamaha Street (between Vlissingen Road and Middleton Street), ‘Conversation Tree’, East Coast Railway Embankment, and Industry (Orphanage Road).

Minister Edghill said that the main aim of the visits was to ensure that the issues raised in these areas were resolved, and clear directions were given on the way forward. (See tomorrow’s publication for more details on the outcome of the visits.)
