Cold Fusion cart off three-way dominoes tournament
COLD Fusion emerged winners of the feature three-way dominoes tournament which ended recently, totalling 232 games to edge Big Lall on 227 and Mocha who ended in the cellar on 217.
Playing at Cold Fusion Sports Bar, Zeelugt, West Coast Demerara, the home team emerged winners of the first round, scoring 81 games with Big Lall occupying the second spot on 76 and Mocha just behind with 75.
Skipper Boodnarine Persaud led the way for the winners with 17 games and received solid support from Radesh Sooklall and Doodnauth (Bunda) with 15 games each while Robin Persaud had 14.
Leon Lall scored 15 games for Big Lall while Basil Allen registered 14. For Mocha, Alan Argyle made 15 games and skipper Clarice Adams 13.
The second match, played at Big Lall venue, Wales, West Bank Demerara, saw Cold Fusion coming out on top with 80 games with the homesters registering 75 and Mocha 72. For Cold Fusion, Taslim Inshan scored the maximum 18 games with Robin Persaud supporting with 17.
Lall Shaheed (SJ) was the top marker for Big Lall with 17 games and was supported by skipper Suresh Lall with 13. For Mocha, Samuel Henry made 17 games and Clarice Adams 16.
The final round, played at Mocha on August 30, saw Big Lall emerging tops with 76 games against Cold Fusion 71 and Mocha 70. For the winners, Eddie Persaud topped with 17 games while Leon Lall had 15 and Basil Allen 14.
Boodnarine Persaud was once again among the games with 16 while Taslim Inshan had 15. For Mocha, Lawrence Henry scored 16 games and was supported by Alan Argyle with 15 and Samuel Henry 14.
Boodnarine Persaud earned the Player-of-the-series award with 44 games. Leon Lall top scored for Big Lall with 41 games and Samuel Henry for Mocha 43 games. Cash incentive and trophies were awarded to the winning team, second place and player of the series.
