– says Education Minister
THE Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, announced on Wednesday that the results of the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA), which was taken recently, will be released a week earlier than expected.
In a video statement released to the Ministry of Education’s social media pages, the Minister stated that while initially, they had planned to release the results on July 17, the ministry is pleased to be able to do it one week earlier on July 7th instead.
“I know parents and children and teachers are very anxious about what September looks like for them and being prepared for that date, and so we’re very glad to be able to do this early,” she said.
Additionally, she implored those students and parents awaiting results that whatever the results, they are going to be taken care of in High School as she noted that the government is on an aggressive push to make sure all schools are equal.
The Minister went on to add that they are on a push to ensure that all schools across the country have the necessary facilities like good laboratories, libraries, technical and vocational education infrastructure and better monitoring.
This year, over 16,200 pupils at 517 centres across the country sat the two-day examination which serves as an entrance exam to secondary schools.
