MIAMI, Florida, (CMC) – Jamaica won their second on the trot to remain unbeaten but the Bahamas and St Vincent and the Grenadines suffered annihilations in their opening games of the CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship qualification here Sunday.

Playing in Group E in Managua, Jamaica brushed aside Bermuda 2-0 to follow up their 6-0 thrashing of Anguilla at the same venue last Friday.

There was no such joy for either the Bahamas or St Vincent, however. In Group B, the Bahamians were hammered 13-0 by Panama in Willemstad while the Vincentians conceded a dozen goals to Canada in San Cristóbal in Group A action.

Anguilla also suffered in Managua, slumping to a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Honduras in Group E.

The results left Jamaica and Honduras in a tussle for group honours, both on six points from two wins, with Anguilla and Bermuda both already eliminated from contention.

Jamaica and Honduras will clash on Tuesday in the decider.

Following a goalless first half at the Nicaragua National Stadium, Jamaica went ahead moments following the resumption through Shaniel Buckley, but had to wait until stoppage time before they could seal the victory through a Davia Richards strike.

At the Rignaal Jean Francisca Stadium, meanwhile, Sherline King and Marisa Gross both netted hat-tricks while Daniela Hincapié added a brace as Panama raced to an 8-0 half-time lead to put the result out of sight.

Gross’s hat-trick came in the first half in the space of 15 minutes while King banged in a brace before half-time, before adding a third on the hour mark.

At Estadio Panamericano, SVG also came in for a hiding, Olivia Smith landing a first half hat-trick – inclusive of two penalties – and Rosa Maalouf adding a second half brace.

The Vincentians were down 5-0 at half-time and failed to halt the onslaught in the second half, conceding three goals in the last 10 minutes of the contest.
