MINISTER within the Office of the Prime Minister, Kwame McCoy has called on residents of Sophia to reject persons who practise race-baiting.
In his address to residents during an outreach at “B” Field, Sophia, Minister McCoy expressed disgust at persons who try to divide Guyanese on the basis of race.

He related to the people of Sophia that division among Guyanese will never serve anyone’s best interest.
To this end, he called out the Opposition for spreading misinformation that some Guyanese are being discriminated against by the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) government.

All Guyanese, regardless of race or gender, are catered for in all health and educational institutions.
The minister asked the Opposition to show which system in Guyana deprives or denies Afro-Guyanese of full service.

He went on to say: “I would like to know which one of our children is deprived or denied access to school; from nursery to even university.”
Minister McCoy encouraged the residents to challenge anyone that goes before them with “that nonsense”, and confront them with the questions so that it would expose their “silly” behaviour.

The minister encouraged all Guyanese to work together, so that the country could move forward faster.
He assured Guyanese that the government is working for every stakeholder, and will continue to deliver what is promised to them, so that they could live a better life.
