Unidentified motorcyclist killed in Wales accident

AN unidentified man died on Sunday, August 28, 2022, after he lost control of his motorcycle and ended up in a trench at Clarke’s Turn, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
Police said in a press release that 45-year-old Adrian Nelson of Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara (WBD), asked the deceased for a drop home on his motorcycle CL 5663.

Inquiries disclosed that the pillion rider claimed that he knows the deceased from Crane, WBD, and they were at a dance in Wales. He told the police that while they were proceeding along the western side of the road in the vicinity of Clarke’s Turn, which is a steep turn, the driver, who was proceeding at a fast rate, lost control and ended up in the trench.

The pillion rider managed to jump off the motorcycle before it went into the trench.
Both persons were picked up in a conscious state by the police and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty. Nelson, who suffered a fractured leg was admitted at the said institution in a stable condition.
The body of the deceased man is presently lying in the hospital’s mortuary awaiting identification.
