THE Central Immigration and Passport Office, on Thursday, said there has been a delay in the provision of passport and other immigration document services due to the shortage of materials.
In a statement issued by the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the office said that while it continues to provide passport and other immigration document services, it is attempting to do so within the normal time frame of five working days.
“The COVID-19 Pandemic and other recent world events have caused the disruption of countless supply chains. The Guyana Police Force’s Central Immigration and Passport Office has been affected by this disruption in the supply chain of material,” the release said.
The report also announced that the delayed shipment of materials will arrive in late August after which there will be some normalcy.
In the meantime, the Central Immigration and Passport Office said it remains “unwavering in its commitment to work assiduously to ensure that things are back to normal in the shortest possible time.”
