Eight months’ jail for confessed ‘ganja’ farmer

WAYNE Harris, a 36-year-old Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) resident, was sentenced to eight months’ jail after he admitted to planting marijuana, a controlled substance.

According to a police statement, the convicted man was arraigned before Magistrate Zamilla Ali-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for the offence committed Tuesday last.
Harris was not represented by an attorney.
