FOUR persons, including a woman and a minor, were, on Saturday, arrested with $2.4 million worth of cocaine, along with a small parcel of cannabis, during a narcotics raid at a property in Bel Air Avenue, Lamaha Garden.
According to a release from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), the operation was conducted at a Bel Air Avenue residence, where two parcels of cocaine and a quantity of cannabis were found.
The suspects were arrested and taken to the CANU Headquarters, where a test was done on the substances within the two parcels and was found to be cocaine and cannabis.
The cocaine had a total weight of 2.292 kilograms, with a street value of approximately $2.4 million, while the cannabis weighed 64 grams. All of the suspects are presently in custody pending further investigations.
According to CANU, one of the male suspects is a 55-year-old businessman who is no stranger to the law. In 2013, he was charged with narcotics trafficking after cocaine was found in a lumber shipment.
